Friends of Hawkhead Cemetery Welcome FlightPath Funding

The Friends of Hawkhead Cemetery (FOHC) have welcomed a funding boost of £550 from the Glasgow Airport FlightPath Fund.
The friends group which was formed in 2022, it works to care for and improve Hawkhead Cemetery, said the grant will help support ongoing efforts to maintain the historic site and enhance it for visitors and the wider community.
Glasgow Airport FlightPath Fund was established in 2010, with the sole intention of providing financial support to charities and community groups committed to improving facilities and services available to local people.
Since its launch, the fund has supported more than 800 projects and activities, awarding almost £1.9 million to groups across the region.
The Glasgow Airport FlightPath Fund is designed to ensure communities surrounding Glasgow Airport share in its success. The programme supports community groups and charities in eligible areas of Renfrewshire, Glasgow North-West, and East and West Dunbartonshire.
Members of the Friends of Hawkhead Cemetery expressed their gratitude for the funding, noting that even small grants can make a big difference to volunteer-led groups working to preserve local heritage and green spaces.
The funding will help the group continue its work to improve the cemetery grounds, ensuring the site remains a respectful and welcoming place for visitors while protecting an important part of Paisley’s history.
