STOP RENFREWSHIRE COUNCIL TOPPLING HEADSTONES AT LOCAL CEMETERIES

Almost 1000 people have signed our petition calling on Renfrewshire Council to stop laying flat the headstones within our local cemeteries.

Our proposals include alternative methods:

·      To stake the headstones

·      To partially sink the headstones

·      To permanently fix the headstones

The current policy is to drop headstones on the Council’s first inspection. Thousands of these headstones could be repaired by the Council for the same cost.

No one from the Council contacts lair holders prior to this work being carried out, causing much distress to loved ones and families.
